As we start to gear up for the next construction season, it is important to be prepared when it comes to concrete testing and concrete placing methods. ACI-WI is proud to have Charlie Gresser of ECS Midwest and Steve Homar of Giles Engineering presenting a discussion of concrete testing. Included in their discussion will be comparison of 6x12 and 4x8 cylinders and a review of Hot Weather Concrete.

Charlie is a registered engineer in Wisconsin and has been managing materials testing labs for 23 years in Wisconsin. He is participates on several ASTM and ACI committees related to concrete materials and construction. He has been a board member for almost 20 years and served as President of ACI-WI in 2003 and 2010.

Steve has been involved in the materials testing industry for over 20 years and manages the materials testing division at Giles Engineering and oversees their nationally accredited laboratory. He earned his Civil Engineering degree from University of Minnesota.
